No, we do not take any insurance or provide codes for insurance reimbursement.
Given that insurance has its limitations, especially with more holistic approaches, we have decided to opt out of insurance all together. This enables us to spend 3-4 times longer with each patient and provide high-quality care.
However, we recommend patients to have a Primary Care Provider who takes insurance for annual physical exams, screening tests, routine lab work, and prescription medication management.

No, we differ from concierge clinics. since we charge per visit instead of per annual or monthly membership. Once a new patient becomes established, we consider them a member of our clinic and they can schedule as needed/advised.
We do offer annual package plans for those seeking more maintenance & preventative care (see our “Packages” page under our “Clinic” tab for more details).
-
We require the following steps before scheduling a new patient appointment (in this order):
Sign, complete, and submit all consent forms & medical history intake digitally via our client portal link (call or text us to request the link).
We require a major credit or debit card on file to book an appointment (you will see this step once logged in to the client portal). We only charge the card if patient opts for this payment method at check-out, or if patient owes a late cancellation / no-show fee.
Confirm a date/time with us via call, text, email, or online booking request to lock in your initial visit.
-
In the chance of a no-show, the individual will owe 100% of the total cost of the visit. If we do not hear back from an individual 30 minutes past their scheduled appointment time, we will mark the visit as a no-show and charge the card on file in full.
In the chance of a late cancellation (if a patient gives last-minute notice past the 24-hour business day mark), the individual will owe 50% of the total cost of the visit. This fee will be collected via the card on file at the moment we receive the late notice.
NOTE: If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we require a 24-hour notice during business hours: Tuesday-Friday, 10am-6pm EST & Saturday, 12pm-6pm EST. *To notify, either email us at heal@karmaosteopathic.com, or call / text our business line: 941-529-6750
**For example, for a 2:00PM Tuesday appointment, one must give cancellation or rescheduling notice by 2:00PM the Saturday prior at the very latest.**
-
Appointment fees are based on the scheduled time, not the arrival time. Late arrivals will be seen within the remaining portion of their scheduled appointment and will be billed at the full rate. While we appreciate advance notice of delays, additional time beyond the scheduled appointment cannot be guaranteed in order to respect other patients’ appointments.
For example, a patient scheduled from 2:00–3:00 PM who arrives at 2:15 PM may be seen only for the remaining portion of the appointment if another visit is scheduled afterward. The full 60-minute fee will apply.
-
We recommend that you eat a well-balanced meal and adequately hydrate, but please do not overdo it. Gym clothes work well for visits. We also have patient gowns available if needed.
Some people like to exercise/walk before visits to already be loosened and amplify certain treatments.
For patients scheduled for Hybrid Visits: Neural Therapy injections are done very superficially with minimal bleeding. Dr. Barnum can apply gauze pads over the treatment site, but some patients prefer to wear dark clothing to avoid any minor risk of staining light-colored clothing.
-
During initial visits, Dr. Barnum will discuss the medical history info provided by the patient in the intake forms. The patient can expect a custom treatment plan tailored to their needs and a full osteopathic treatment (either OMT or Hybrid, depending on what they book).
During follow-up visits, Dr. Barnum asks for feedback since the patient’s last treatment and will help guide the next steps in the treatment. *Patients can book OMT follow-up visits or Hybrid follow-up visits.
During OMT Visits, patients can expect various types of manual treatments such as Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT), cupping, Normatec Compressions, stretching and Graston technique.
During Hybrid Visits, patients will receive a combination of Neural Therapy injections and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT), along with other manual techniques.
Patients can except a lot of integrative & holistic education/tips during your visits! :)

Depending on how long you have had the symptom(s), outcomes may vary. While some may notice instant change, others may experience soreness as their bodies are flushing toxins/lactic acid buildup through the lymphatic system. Each visit is driven by your feedback. The goal is to compare to what you have not been able to do because of the condition(s). If one approach does not make a significant change, we will approach it from a new angle during a future session.
*New Patients will receive a post-visit email with a summary of important highlights from the initial visit and recommended next steps.
No two patients have the exact same treatment approach, because no two people have had the exact same injury/trauma/surgical history!
* Similar to post-massage therapy, be sure to hydrate especially well in the first 1-2 days post-treatment. *
Movement is encouraged after each visit to facilitate better blood flow/lymphatic drainage (e.g., walking 20 minutes/day); however, do not “push through” any activity causing pain.

Utilizing the intake form the best way possible: The most useful information for Dr. Barnum to know is the surgical/trauma histories, and what symptoms/conditions you feel.
Every being has experienced trauma at some degree. Think about anything that your nervous system may have perceived as a significant shock to your body at any point in your life. For example, emotional/traumatic moments & physical trauma sites (scars, hard hits, cuts, burns, infections, piercings, sensitive/numb spots, dental work, etc).
Please note that some trauma spots may come with memories/feelings of anger/sadness/fear/guilt/shame, and that is perfectly healthy to acknowledge…and could be a massive clue. For example, if you had a life-altering injury that negatively impacted you, this could be a great starting point for us with treatment.
Remember: pain is not always coming from where you think it might be! Your stories help Dr. Barnum think outside the box with you. Any information you can provide helps us get to your root cause(s) quicker!
